Rose Cottage is a family holiday home nestled on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Freshly renovated, this 4 bedroomed cottage is in the heart of the Cumbrian village of Tirril, less than 2 miles from the Lake District’s second largest lake, Ullswater.
Our cosy cottage has four bedrooms comprised of three double bedrooms and a kids bunk room, plus two family rooms, a kitchen and bathroom. The secret walled country garden is a relaxing place to barbecue or play games on the lawn, as it is a sun trap throughout the day and evening.

Location
Local facilities in Tirril centre around the Queens Head Inn, 2 doors away from Rose Cottage. A source of charm, great local food (their homemade pie menu is truly marvellous) and a fine selection of Lakeland beers, gins and other treats. It’s worth booking ahead when planning your stay.
Why Rose Cottage?
We use Rose Cottage as a family holiday home on a regular basis and have ventured into the holiday home market to share our (not-so-secret) corner of the world with other like-minded holiday makers. The accessibility to Ullswater is why we holiday here so often, plus it’s a great bolt hole for exploring the wider Lake District. The walking, running and cycling routes around us are fantastic, as are the watersports options on Ullswater, from sailing and windsurfing to standup paddle boarding and kayaking.
